Terms of Service

Effective: December 26, 2025

These terms are a contract between you and Edelweiss Group ("Moatup," "we," "us"). They explain what you're getting, what we expect, and how we'll handle problems if they come up.

We've tried to write this in plain English. If something is unclear, ask us at wecare@moatup.com.

Summary

You get a tool to prepare for interviews. We get your agreement to use it appropriately and pay if you want full access. You own your content. We're not guaranteeing you'll get hired. If something goes wrong, let's talk before lawyering up.

That's the deal.

The Deal

Here's what you're agreeing to:

What you get:

  • Access to Moatup's interview preparation tools
  • Ability to generate interviewer briefings, run practice simulations, receive feedback, and build your story library
  • If you pay for Full Access: 30 days of unlimited use from the date of purchase

What we get:

  • Your agreement to use Moatup lawfully and not abuse the platform
  • Payment for Full Access if you choose to upgrade
  • The right to operate and improve the service

What this isn't:

  • A subscription. We don't auto-renew. When your 30 days end, they end. If you want more time, you purchase again.
  • A guarantee you'll get the job. Moatup helps you prepare. The interview is still on you.
  • Professional career coaching or legal/employment advice. We're a preparation tool.

Your Account

You're responsible for:

  • Keeping your login credentials secure
  • Everything that happens under your account
  • Providing accurate information when you sign up

If you think someone accessed your account without permission, contact us immediately at wecare@moatup.com.

One account per person. Don't share your account or credentials with others.

Payment and Access

Free tier:

Limited access to test the product. We may change free tier limits at any time.

Full Access ($29):

  • One-time payment, not a subscription
  • 30 days of unlimited access starting from purchase
  • No automatic renewal—when it expires, it expires
  • If you want to continue after 30 days, you purchase again at the then-current price

Pricing changes:

We may change pricing for future purchases. If you've already paid, your access continues as promised at checkout. We don't retroactively change terms on completed purchases.

Payment processing:

Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't store your card details.

Your Content

You own what you create.

Your stories, notes, interview details, and any other content you put into Moatup remains yours. We don't claim ownership of your content.

What we can do with it:

  • Process it to deliver the service (generate briefings, run simulations, provide feedback)
  • Store it so you can access your history
  • Use aggregated, anonymized data to improve the product (e.g., "users who practiced 3+ times performed better")

What we won't do:

  • Sell your content
  • Use your specific stories, practice sessions, or personal details in marketing without your explicit permission
  • Share identifiable content with third parties except as needed to provide the service

If you delete your account, we delete your content within 30 days, except where we're legally required to retain it.

Interviewer Data

When you submit a LinkedIn URL, you're asking us to analyze publicly available information about that person. You're responsible for:

  • Only submitting URLs for people you have a legitimate reason to research (typically, someone interviewing you)
  • Not using Moatup to stalk, harass, or compile dossiers on people unrelated to your job search

We analyze public information only. We don't access private profiles, scrape connection-gated content, or contact the people you're researching.

Acceptable Use

Use Moatup for interview preparation. That's what it's for.

Don't:

  • Share your account with others
  • Attempt to access systems, data, or accounts you're not authorized to access
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the platform
  • Use Moatup in ways that violate laws (including employment, privacy, or anti-discrimination laws)
  • Abuse the platform in ways that degrade service for others
  • Submit content that's illegal, abusive, or infringes others' rights

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. We'll tell you why if we do.

What Moatup Isn't (Honest Limitations)

We want to be clear about what you're getting:

Moatup is a preparation tool. It helps you research interviewers, practice responses, and organize your stories. It cannot guarantee you'll get any particular job.

AI-generated insights are inferences, not facts. Our briefings analyze public signals to predict interviewer priorities. They may be incomplete or wrong. Use them as input to your preparation, not as absolute truth.

We're not career coaches, lawyers, or therapists. Moatup doesn't provide professional career advice, legal guidance about employment situations, or mental health support.

Interview success depends on many factors we don't control. Your qualifications, the competition, the interviewer's mood, the company's budget—these matter and we can't influence them.

You're responsible for your own interview performance and career decisions.

Our Right to Change Things

The service:

We may add, modify, or remove features. We're building and improving. If we make changes that significantly reduce what you paid for, we'll try to give you notice and make it right.

These terms:

We may update these terms. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email or in-app before they take effect. Continuing to use Moatup after changes means you accept the new terms.

Pricing:

We may change pricing for future purchases. Your current purchase isn't affected by future price changes.

Account Termination

You can leave anytime. Delete your account in settings or email us. We'll remove your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

We can terminate your account if:

  • You violate these terms
  • You abuse the platform or other users
  • We're required to by law
  • We discontinue the service entirely

We won't terminate your account arbitrarily. If we terminate for cause, we'll tell you why. If we're discontinuing the service, we'll give you notice and the opportunity to export your data.

What happens to your remaining access:

If we terminate your account for violating terms, you don't get a refund for unused time. If we discontinue the service, we'll handle it fairly—either refunding remaining time or giving adequate notice.

Intellectual Property

Our stuff:

Moatup, including the platform, branding, design, and underlying technology, is owned by Edelweiss Group. These terms don't transfer any ownership to you. You get a license to use the service, not ownership of it.

Your stuff:

As stated above, you retain ownership of the content you create. By using Moatup, you give us a license to process your content as needed to provide the service.

Feedback:

If you send us suggestions or feedback, we can use it to improve the product without compensation or credit. Don't send us confidential ideas you don't want us to use.

Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law:

Moatup is provided "as is." We don't guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or meet your specific needs.

We disclaim warranties including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

AI outputs may be inaccurate. Use your judgment.

This doesn't limit any rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.

Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law:

We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages including lost profits, lost jobs, or career setbacks.

Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

This doesn't limit liability for things that can't be limited by law (like fraud or gross negligence).

Disputes

Governing law: These terms are governed by the laws of New York, USA.

Informal resolution first: Before filing any claim, contact us at wecare@moatup.com. We'll try to resolve it within 30 days.

Jurisdiction: Any disputes not resolved informally will be handled in the courts of New York, and you consent to jurisdiction there.

General Terms

Entire agreement: These terms, along with our Privacy Policy, are the complete agreement between you and Moatup.

Severability: If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.

No waiver: If we don't enforce a term, that doesn't mean we waive our right to enforce it later.

Assignment: We can assign these terms in a merger or acquisition. You can't assign your account.
